You can choose adapters or digital televisions made by
many different companies. Each has different connections or specifications
so prices vary. Contact your local retailer, or the manufacturer, for help
and advice about the right one for you and for advice about your aerial
installation and any connection leads you will need.
Digital adapters upgrade your existing set to receive digital signals. They
have different features and connections and cost from around £99.
Manufacturers include Pace, Grundig/Thomson, Pioneer, Nokia, Goodmans and
Panasonic.
Integrated digital TV sets (iDTVs) have an adapter built in. Manufacturers
include Toshiba, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Hitachi, Sony, Bush and Philips.
If you need help using your adapter or iDTV please speak
to the manufacturer’s helpline or your retailer:

Adapters and digital
televisions are available from local electrical
independent or multiple
retailers.
Ask the retailer these questions:
Can you check that I can get signals where I
live?
Will my aerial need adjusting or upgrading? Who can do it and what
might it cost?
Check the adapter’s sockets and leads will connect to your other
equipment (eg your TV, VCR or DVD).
If I can’t get signals or have other trouble can I bring the
adapter back?
