There is a vast amount of web sites covering health and health issues. I have included a few here and some will have extra links. If you need information on your health, cant sleep or are just a hypochondriac then this is for you.  I will add more as the are recommended please send me  the details.

  • The official NHS site is a good place to start  When you call NHS Direct, you are asked to provide some basic information about yourself and to describe the nature of your call. If you need advice about a health problem, you are asked if you are calling for yourself or on behalf of someone else and are required to explain your symptoms.  NHS Direct works hand in hand with other healthcare services provided by the NHS, helping you make the right choice to meet your needs. 


  • Sleep net: This is the site for insomniacs. Many ways to help you with your sleep problems. Many of us just cannot sleep and you will find many ways to help you here. NEW over 400 Definitions and Abbreviations used in sleep.

  • Dot Com Pharmacy: The site contains more than 600 pages of pharmacy information first published in this top UK magazine. All pages can be accessed from the home page by clicking on the section headings on the left side or by using the navigation bar at the bottom of the page. New pages can be found by clicking on the 'list of new pages' link on the home page. New visitors might find useful information in our FAQ section.
  • Holland and Barratt: This is the site of  the UK's leading retailer of vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements.  You can order on line and find out about their vast range of products. Holland and Barrett has almost 80 years experience in helping customers choose the right products to help maintain optimum health.
  • Like it is: This site deals with sex education like it is. It is hosted by Geri Halliwell so there is no smut, just the right things to learn. If you need the right answers then visit here. The site, which is aimed at under-16s, is colourful, nicely designed and full of vital information and tips, which are surprisingly un-patronising. It really is an excellent site to teach those things we all find hard to talk about.
  • Parent Resource Centre is a superb site helping parents find answers to many of the problems that face them.
  • Woman's Health Issues has been designed for the specific needs of Professionals interested in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the medical industry, and women everywhere. Our goal is to continuously improve services to help in the delivery of Women's Healthcare.
  • Sports injuries and Sports related injuries require specialized care care to promote optimum healing.
  • On-Line fitness This excellent site helps you get fit with workouts and routines on-line.
  • Crunch machines this site tells you how good various exercise machines are. The crunch machine is good and reviewed at this site.
  • Family First Aid: Come and look around for first aid information as well as how to keep your family safe and sound at home and abroad. You'll also find some useful information about the Savlon family of first aid and skin cleansing product
  • Oxford Medical is an excellent place for home health information. You'll find expert but accessible advice on various embarrassing conditions, a range of family health issues and the medical pitfalls of global travel. A full databases of diseases and diagnosis is excellent. This site was a Steve Wright featured site.
  • Medicine net  MedicineNet, Inc. is an online, healthcare media publishing company. It provides easy-to-read, in-depth, authoritative medical information for consumers via a network of robust, user-friendly, interactive web sites.
  • E-Pharmacy has a searchable database for products from the USA.
  • Heart Info is an independent, educational Web site that provides consumers with instructional information and services for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
  • Parkinson's Web at Harvard. Here you will find many recourses and a little humour too.
  • Yale Medical Centre is an excellent start site for many medical problems and for medical advice.
  • yFind a Drug Find-a-Drug is a not for profit distributed computing project which was set up by Treweren Consultants, the company who developed the THINK software for virtual screening.
    Find-a-Drug aims to run a series of projects in parallel addressing a number of diseases which have a major impact on health. We seek to collaborate with the world's leading experts including academics in each therapeutic area. Members may elect to opt in and out of projects at any time using the Find-a-Drug control panel. The progress of each project as well as contributions of members are provided on the web-site.
